Marketing with Images
LetsUni's advanced technology is improving the way students and accommodation providers do business to rent accommodation. A key feature is the ability to supply images to support descriptions of properties, so we've put together this guide to help you take advantage of the ability.
Internal and External
The most commonly used photo to promote a property is an external shot taken from the front - you only have to look in any estate agent's window to see that. But with web technology, the space available isn't so limited, so it makes sense to provide internal photos as well.
Here are a few suggestions that might make your property stand out:
- If there is a good size living space in the house a photo may be able to convey this.
- Kitchens are often worth including, particularly if they are modern and attractive.
- Bathrooms, if clean and modern can highlight a property, and will look good in a photo.
- And remember that external photos aren't limited to the traditional front-of-house shot. If there's an attractive rear garden, consider including a photo of that.
Remember, people are expecting to see a shot of the front of the house; if you leave this out but provide other photos they may assume there's something wrong with the house. It's usually best to give people what they're expecting, but to give them more in addition.
First Impressions
While a snapshot of the front of the property may be the traditional first impression, you don't have to be constrained by that. Simply tell us which image you want to be "number one", and we will make it the first image presented for the property.
If you decide that you want, say, a photo of the toilet as the first image, well, that's up to you, but bear in mind what students will think - it's likely to cross their mind that perhaps you're trying to cover something up. Whether it's the first image shown or not, we would always recommend you include a photo of the front of the property.
Not just photos...
Of course, most of the images that accommodation providers will supply will be photos of the accommodation, but LetsUni's powerful web technology is not limited to displaying photos of properties. If you have floor-plans or other types of images you would like us to display, please get in touch.
